If you are considering getting married in Church, first of all, warmest best wishes to you as you begin your preparations for this Sacrament!

Before you make any bookings, it could be very useful for you to read through a very helpful pamphlet called “Planning your Wedding Day”, produced by ACCORD (the Catholic Marriage support agency) which features lots of important information and guidelines on what is needed to prepare for the Church side of the ceremony and what are the civil requirements. It can be downloaded as a pdf files here:

http://www.accord.ie/filestore/misc_files/Planning_Your_Wedding_Day.pdf

New legal requirements came into effect on 5th November 2007, so pay special attention to them.

Check out ACCORDs own website:  http://www.accord.ie/

and the General Register Office site: www.groireland.ie

We hope the other resources here on www.litmus.dublindiocese.ie will be helpful to you in preparing your Marriage ceremony.

You can find an overall outline of the structure of the Church ceremony, the full choice of readings and of ceremony texts available to you, and advice on making music choices via our Wedding Album section.
