WHEN AN ADULT SEEKS TO BE RECEIVED INTO FULL COMMUNION WITH THE CATHOLIC CHURCH

When adults, who have already been baptised validly in another Christian denomination, ask to be received into the full communion of the Catholic Church, resources are available. When the initial approach is made, priests are asked to contact us here at the Liturgy Resource Centre. litmus@dublindiocese.ie

WHEN AN ADULT SEEKS CONFIRMATION

Candidates who have been prepared for Confirmation may be presented for the Sacrament on the occasion of the celebration of Confirmation in their parish. On some occasions it may be appropriate for the candidate to be confirmed by the local priest who should receive delegation through the chancellery. Fr. Damien McNeice in the Liturgy Office is happy to help with ideas and resources for preparing these adults. The usual information and documents should be carefully prepared: Baptism Name, full address (Confirmation Name), parents names, details of baptism or reception, including date and place, name of sponsor, note attesting sufficient instruction and preparation (including recent confession). Get in touch with us here in the Liturgy Resource Centre for the relevant forms, which will include the granting of permission and faculties to a Parish Priest to confer the sacrament of Confirmation.
